Let poetry carry you to the Prem Castle! Named after a famous Slovene poet born in Trnovo near Ilirska Bistrica, The Kette trail starts at Dragotin Kette Grammar School in Trnovo. It follows the Kette Street across the Reka river to Zarečje. The pleasant trail passes the mill at the Novak homestead, jumps across the Brejšček stream and heads up to the village of Smrje.

All that Is left is a stroll through the ancient orchards to the Church of St Helena and into the castle village of Prem.
