The remains of the hillfort stand on an artificial plateau at the top of the Javor hill. Extensive and important findings were recovered from the gravesites cut into the slopes of the hill. The oldest findings date back to the Bronze Age and the hillfort was also active in the Roman times, guarding the approaches to the Adriatic and the Tarsatica-Tergeste road.
