This Iron Age hillfort is enclosed by a cyclopean wall almost a kilometer long. An acropolis was further fortified and there are two entrances still visible. The Church of St Catherine and the purported nunnery were built on top of the hillfort in medieval times, when the place was used as a refuge during the Ottoman raids.
