Under the peaks of Volovja Reber and down the slopes of Mount Snežnik, a border used to run between the kingdoms of Yugoslavia and Italy. As the times back then were less forgiving than they are today, the border was fortified. Numerous caverns and battle lines can still be found, but be careful not to enter any crumbling remains of the war-scarred past.
