The trail starts in Ilirska Bistrica, from where It heads off towards the Croatian border through the cozy little villages of Brkini. Many phenomenal views of Mount Snežnik can be observed throughout the entire trail. From Jelšane, the trail goes up to Novokračine and onto Sv. Katarina (St Catherine), which offers views stretching all the way to the Adriatic.
