When you're going to Ilirska Bistrica, make sure you take a bicycle with you! Over 500 kilometers of mountain bike trails and 300 kilometers of various thematic tracks are waiting for you to explore them. What is more, on the last weekend of May, an annual gathering of cycling and beer lovers called Bike & Beer Fest takes place on Milanja. Anyone can find a cycling trail that suits them best; from very demanding climbs, like the one to Sviščaki or the long trail all around Mount Snežnik, to easy rolls through the pristine forests of Mašun.

Thematic trails will lead you through the remains of World Wars I & II, passing ancient castles, churches and memorials, and all the way to the schnapps-makers in the orchards of Brkini. Select one, click, upload the GPS track – and of you go!
