From Ilirska Bistrica, follow the main road towards Kuteževo. Turn left as you reach the school and cross the Reka river. pass the village of Pograj and keep left. In Zabiče, take the road towards Novokračine and follow the gravel road to the left as you reach the bottom of the climb. You are now in the Dleto Valley.

The road follows the Reka river, crossing it many times. The trail is is pleasant and offers a cool shade with the murmuring of the river accompanying you through the easy climb. The trail ends at the Croatian border. Once there, you can either return via the same route or take the Zabiče-Kuteževo-Trpičane-Jablanica-Vrbica road leading back to Ilirska Bistrica.
