The Royal Mountain of Ilirska Bistrica, ruling his kingdom that stretches from Inner Carniola to the Adriatic. The easiest way to access its 1769-meter high summit starts at the lovely hamlet of Sviščaki. The trail climbs past the Drago Karolin mountain hut and takes around two hours of easy walking through forests and alpine meadows. In the winter, the climb is a serious one – it might be beautiful, but it is very demanding! The airy summit is even more interesting if you tackle it from the Leska Valley, and its little brother Mali Snežnik is perfect for anyone seeking for bliss and solitude.
