A wonderful day in the Bistrica region will surely make you hungry – and you are lucky because the cuisine around these places is absolutely phenomenal. Many excellent local restaurants offer everything you could think of; from venison, lamb, top-quality vegetables and local delicacies, such as štruklji, to fresh fish caught in one of the many pristine streams in the area or the nearby Kvarner bay. Of course, you can find all the classic dishes, pizzas and pastas prepared by the skilled hands of Bistrica’s masters of cuisine. Many inns also offer comfortable accommodation for tired travelers.

Ilirska Bistrica is a town, and each town has cafés and bars. It is so pleasant to sit in the café garden on the old square, order a coffee and open a newspaper – maybe even relax and order a piece of cake, a fruit salad or one of the typical Bistrica desserts.
