Visit Brkini! Explore the hills and valleys!

The Brkini Classic is the new gravel challenge. Macadam challenge! In every sense of the word. Bike, gpx track and freedom of pedaling. Full speed with gels in your pocket or with a sausage in the underseat bag. Everything is valid and everything is cool!

The event is in co-organization with the Dust Lust team, so you are in the hands of an experienced team! You will be able to choose between two routes: long with about 100 km and 2000 altitude meters, and short with around 70 km and 1200 meters.

7.30 a.m. – 8.15 a.m. – registration on the day of the event and collection of numbers of pre-registered participants

CYCLING ROUTES

~ Short – about 70 km and 1200 meters of altitude

~ Long – about 100 km and 2000 meters in altitude

The final routes will be known in the last week before the event. The organizer has the right to change the routes and thus length and height difference of each route, which will not deviate by more than 10% from the original one.

There is no outside help or stewards on the route, therefore cyclists depend on themselves and their fellow participants, so they must prepare accordingly. The event is not competitive, there is no timing and there is no classification. All pre-registered participants will receive both routes in the form of GPX tracks via e-mail on Thursday, April 25th. Competitors must carefully study the chosen route and transfer it to the navigation device for use on the day of the event. The use of a tracking device is mandatory - either Garmin, Wahoo, smartphone or anything else, as it is the only proof of participation and compliance, as well as the only recommended way to successfully navigate the unmarked course.

DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT

The Brkini classic is a cycling event that takes place on the side roads and macadam paths of the Slovenian Brkini and Slovenian and Croatian Čičarija.

Participants move along an unmarked route with the help of navigation devices or pre-prepared maps. The event is recreational in nature and thus open to all cyclists, regardless of fitness and ambition.

AWARDS

The first 100 participants who register will receive a starter pack.

Everyone who completes the entire route (long or short) receives a certificate of completion of the third Brkini Classic.

REGISTRATION, STARTING FEE AND BENEFITS

Pre-registration at a lower price (30 euros) per event is open until midnight on Wednesday, April 24th 2024.

You can also register on the day of the event between 7.30 and 8.15 a.m. at the venue, when the starting fee will be 35 euros.

All participants receive welcome drink, refreshments along the cycling route and hot meal with drink at the finish line.

BENEFICIARIES OF FREE START FEE

In the weeks leading up to the event, participants can ride all three qualifying routes to earn a free entry.

Proof of completed routes can be sent to us via e-mail bike@tic-ilbistrica.si. As proof counts a recorded ride on Strava or a similar online platform and a photo from a location on the route of your choice.
